Big Hairy Audacious Goals: Yesterday I talked about having a vision. And that is critical. But along with that, you also need to have the steps written out to reach the goals. And that is how your vision will become a reality. So when you have your goals written out, where do you go from there? You become brave. You step out and begin to do what you have to do to see them become a reality. But remember to make it simple. If you do this, you will become a leader. So, you will need to make sure you keep your goals and the way you make them happen, simple and easy to duplicate. Consider this picture:
In this picture, notice where the boss is compared to the leader. The boss is giving orders. Whereas the leader is helping the team go forward. Which will lead to greater success? Almost anyone can become a boss. But to be a leader requires you to be brave. To have confidence in your abilities and to be willing to learn. Consider this diagram:
One thing I’ve also learned that there are different styles of leadership. This diagram shows it.
For the rest of this series I am going to look at these closer. It is clear by now that being a leader is much better than being a boss. But while being a leader is better. Their is a great way to lead as well. I will elaborate on that tomorrow. Have a fantastic day and, as always, as Les Brown says, “You have greatness within you.”
